Canada's Under-20 team draws England 2-2 as Toronto FC's Jordan Hamilton scores late equalizer

Canada U-17 and Toronto FC Academy player Jordan Hamilton celebrates a goal

Toronto FC Homegrown forward Jordan Hamilton was the hero on Wednesday, as Canada's Under-20 team tied England 2-2 in Bournemouth, England.

Hamilton scored a volley in second-half stoppage time after Hanson Boakai's free kick was blocked by England goalkeeper Christy Pym, only for the rebound to be slammed in by the TFC man, currently on loan in Portugal with CD Trofense. English-based winger Michael Petrasso opened the scoring for Canada in the 48th minute, which leveled the score at that point at 1-1.

Several MLS players saw action in the match, including the Vancouver Whitecaps' Marco Carducci, Sam Adekugbe, Kianz Froese, and Marco Bustos, Toronto's Manny Aparicio, and the Montreal Impact's Jeremy Gagnon-Lapare and Louis Beland-Goyette.

Canada, preparing for the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, which will be held in Jamaica in January, will now head to Spain to take on Russia's U-21 team and the USMNT U-20 team at the Marbella Tournament. The upcoming U-20 Championship will also be the qualifying tournament for next year's U-20 World Cup, to be held in New Zealand.
