American Exports: Bolton still in talks with QPR over Tim Ream despite two rejected offers

Tim Ream makes Bolton debut in victory

AMSTERDAM – Bolton remain in transfer negotiations with Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers over Tim Ream despite having already rejected two offers for the US defender in the past week, MLSsoccer.com has learned.

A source close to the situation informed that QPR, who were relegated from the Premier League in the spring, are now expecting an answer back from Wanderers regarding their third bid for Ream.

As reported earlier this week by ESPN FC, the most recent Ream offer is in the £1 million region. The two-time reigning Bolton Player of the Season has two years remaining on his contract. On Thursday, Wanderers manager Neil Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester that they were not interested in losing the St. Louis native.

"There is interest from QPR, but it is way short of the valuation of the player and we don't want to sell him anyway," stated Lennon.

The 27-year-old Ream has started 121 of 126 contests across all competitions since joining Bolton from the New York Red Bulls in January of 2012. In that time, he's notched eight assists against just seven yellow cards.

Ream is slated to open the new Championship season with Bolton against visiting Derby County on Saturday. The same afternoon, QPR will cross town for a London derby at Charlton.
