Inter Miami CF's Luis Robles saves two penalty kicks in wild sequence against Atlanta United

Luis Robles - Inter Miami - September 9, 2020

Inter Miami CF's Luis Robles had a goalkeeping sequence for the ages late in the first half of his team's Week 11 match against Atlanta United on Wednesday, stuffing Atlanta's Ezequiel Barco twice in a row from the spot after a Cubo Torres rebound goal on the first one was waved off for encroachment.

The PK was first awarded in the 40th minute, when referee Robert Sibiga called Miami's Nicolas Figal for a foul at the edge of the area on Atlanta's Jon Gallagher.

Barco stepped up to the spot and uncorked a rocket shot to the right of Robles, but the veteran backstop expertly laid out to save it. However, Torres was crashing the box and got to the rebound, which he smashed into the net for what looked to be the 2-2 equalizing goal.

Not so fast, though. After Video Review, it was ruled that Torres and a Miami player encroached before Barco hit the ball, which wiped the goal off the board and allowed Barco the chance to re-take the attempt.

Given a second chance, Barco went to the opposite side this time, only to be denied by a diving Robles...again. The whole sequence is just wild. Watch it below.
