Who and when Alphonso Davies, Tyler Adams will play in UEFA Champions League semifinals

We already knew Alphonso Davies and Tyler Adams would be representing MLS in the UEFA Champions League semifinals after each played a role in their sides' respective quarterfinal victories last week.

Who you got: Davies & David or Pulisic & Adams?

With the conclusion of the quarterfinals on Saturday, now we know the opponent each starlet will face.

RB Leipzig vs. Paris St. Germain

Tuesday, August 18 (3 pm ET | CBS All Access, TUDN)

What could possibly top coming on as a substitute and scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 quarterfinal triumph over Atletico Madrid? For the former New York Red Bulls charge Adams, it just might be the challenge he faces with RB Leipzig in the semifinals.

Depending on where and when he's deployed, Adams' primary job Tuesday could be shutting down one of the world's greatest attacker's in PSG's Neymar. The Brazilian star has played mostly on the left of late, where he could conceivably match up against Adams at right back, the position he took over in last Thursday's quarterfinal.

Even if Adams plays in his more natural No. 6 role, he may see plenty of Neymar, who cuts inside plenty from that left flank, and is also capable of playing as a No. 9 or No. 10.

Olimpique Lyonnaise vs. Bayern Munich

Wednesday, August 19 (3 pm ET | CBS All Access, TUDN)

Meanwhile, Davies will find himself where no former MLS player has ever found himself before on Wednesday, as a likely starter for a prohibitive UCL semifinal favorite in Bayern Munich following their 8-2 demolition of Barcelona.

Davies has played all but seven of Bayern's last 360 minutes across the Champions League and Bundesliga, and the former Vancouver Whitecaps prodigy contributed a stylish assist in their shocking quarterfinal triumph

They had best not overlook their French opponents, however. Even though Lyon were only sitting in seventh when the previous Ligue 1 season was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have already beaten two of the 2018-19 Big Five league champions, ousting Juventus on aggregate in the Round of 16 before a dramatic 3-1 victory over Manchester City in Saturday's final quarterfinal.
