Could Canada's Jonathan David could become Giovanni Reyna's Dortmund teammate?

Jonathan David - holds hand to ear - Gent

After a stellar year at Gent in Belgium's top flight, Canada national team striker Jonathan David is attracting attention from around the top clubs in Europe. And in a recent report from Dortmund-based daily newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten, the 20-year-old's agent says specifically he wants to move to the Bundesliga.

David has been connected with Dortmund, where US men's national team star Christian Pulisic flourished and American teenager Giovanni Reyna is following in those footsteps. As Transfermarkt explains, he has also been linked to RB Leipzig, where former New York Red Bulls standout Tyler Adams has acquitted himself well, and with Bayern Munich, which also has former Vancouver Whitecaps and fellow CanMNT star Alphonso Davies.

David had 21 goals between Belgium's Juliper League and the UEFA Europa League before the 2019-2020 season came to a halt due to the building coronavirus pandemic.

Internationally, David has scored 11 times for Canada, including a Golden Boot-worthy six-goal performance during the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup.
