Concacaf has suspended the Champions League effective immediately, the confederation announced Thursday. Two matches were played on Wednesday night while LAFC were set to play Cruz Azul on Thursday.
"Given the developments last night, including new guidance issued by countries, cities and states, we have made the decision to suspend the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League with immediate effect," the statement read.

Earlier on Thursday, Major League Soccer suspended its season for 30 days while US Soccer canceled all men's and women's national team matches through the end of April.
The NBA suspended their season on Wednesday night following one of the league's players testing positive for the virus. European soccer had already been greatly impacted, with many games being played behind closed doors before Serie A halted their season.
