LAFC host the Philadelphia Union in the Week 2 finale Sunday night at Banc of California Stadium.
Thanks to a sublime chip by Carlos Vela, LAFC took all three points to open the season, beating expansion side Inter Miami CF, 1-0, at home Sunday. Vela's goal came in the 44th minute, a short time after goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer made a pair of key saves to deny Matias Pellegrini and Nicolas Figal.
Coming off their best season to date, the Union opened the season with a 2-0 loss to FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium Saturday. Zdenek Ondrasek broke the stalemate in the 61st minute and Paxton Pomykal added a stoppage-time insurance goal for the hosts.
