The Houston Dynamo and La Liga club Granada were in discussions over a possible transfer for forward Mauro Manotas but the Spanish club failed to reach Houston's valuation for the forward, sources tell MLSsoccer.com.
Negotiations have ended for the time being and with Spain's transfer window closing on Friday night at 6 pm ET, a source adds another bid is unlikely.
Manotas, 24, has been the subject of interest abroad over the offseason. The forward has 48 goals in 129 appearances (92 starts) with the Dynamo, including a breakout 2018 season in which he had 19 goals in 30 MLS starts. He helped fire the Dynamo to lifting the 2018 US Open Cup.
Over the summer, MLSsoccer.com confirmed reports that the club rejected a "significant" bid for Manotas. He has also been linked with the likes of Cruz Azul, Nantes, Montpellier and Saint Etienne over recent months.
The Dynamo have also received interest in winger Alberth Elis, particularly from Belgium club RSC Anderlecht. Anderlecht recently acquired fullback Michael Murillo from the New York Red Bulls and are on the verge of adding Kemar Lawrence.
