FC Cincinnati tie record for most goals conceded in a season

It’s setting up to be a record-breaking season for FC Cincinnati, but a banner certainly won’t be raised at Nippert Stadium anytime soon.

The expansion side tied the MLS record for most goals conceded in a season following a 2-0 home loss to Atlanta United Wednesday night.

The dubious mark was set by Orlando City SC last year when the Lions conceded 74 goals. That bested the previous record of 70 set the year before by Minnesota United in their expansion season.

FC Cincinnati have three games left in the season. After hosting the Chicago Fire Saturday (7:30 pm ET | MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, on DAZN in Canada), Orlando City come to the Queen City and will be more than happy to make sure FC Cincinnati takes that record off their shoulders.

If it comes down to Decision Day presented by AT&T, FC Cincinnati, which have four clean sheets on the season, head to Audi Field to take on D.C. United.
