The Chicago Fire face a must-win situation to keep their slim postseason hopes alive when they host an FC Dallas side looking to separate from the pack around the playoff line in the Western Conference on Saturday afternoon at SeatGeek Stadium.

The Fire (8-12-10) are five points below the line in the East with just four games remaining following a 1-1 draw at Columbus Aug. 31. Although Chicago needed all three points, one was desirable in second-half stoppage time when Przemyslaw Frankowski canceled out a Pedro Santos first-half tally.

For the third straight match, FC Dallas (12-10-7) scored three or more goals in a game, defeating FC Cincinnati, 3-1, at Toyota Stadium Aug. 31. After Ryan Hollingshead scored the lone goal in the first half, Michael Barrios and Zdenek Ondrasek struck two minutes apart in the second half to extend the host's lead to 3-0. Emmanuel Ledesma scored a consolation goal in the 64th minute, but FC Dallas secured all three points and sit narrowly above the playoff line.
