Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a pair of late goals, leading the LA Galaxy to a much-needed 2-0 win over Toronto FC Thursday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.
The Galaxy had gone 240 minutes of match action without a goal, their last one coming on June 22 in the 15th minute at FC Cincinnati, when Ibrahimovic struck in the 75th minute. His second goal ensure an end to the Galaxy's three-match home losing streak, and gave them their first MLS win at home since April 28.
Both teams missed golden opportunities to go in front earlier in the game. Marky Delgado missed an open net in the third minute for TFC. The Galaxy failed twice on the same possession in the 22nd minute when Julian Araujo hit the right post, and the rebound came out to Joe Corona, whose shot was cleared off the goal line.
They didn't get close again until Ibrahimovic missed high with a shot from close range in the 62nd minute. But after that, the Galaxy solved TFC's defense and Ibrahimovic coudn't be contained.
Toronto FC has just one win since May 4.

Three Things
MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Ibrahimovic, visibly frustrated throughout the match, was in position for a lovely ball from teenager Efrain Alvarez into the box, and he went far post with a header for what was the game winner.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Emmanuel Boateng made some dangerous runs on the wing and provided energy for much of the match until the Galaxy could finally put one way late. He was key to wearing down Toronto FC's backline to create space later for the goals. Honorable mention for David Bingham and his five saves.
