FC Cincinnati have added to their inaugural MLS roster.

The club have introduced Gary the Lion, the club's new mascot heading into their first MLS season. The orange and blue lion was modeled after the club's logo, having both a crown on his head and wings on his back.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gary to the FC Cincinnati family,” FC Cincinnati vice president of community relations Kate Solomon said in a club statement. “He is a bright, cheery force of nature that is a perfect reflection of our fans’ presence in the Queen City. Further, with our club pillar of being active and visible in the community, Gary provides us another way to further our connection to our fans — especially children and younger fans. We can’t wait to see him out and about and spreading the FCC fun around the region.”

At FC Cincy home games, Gary will be in the Kids Zone on Sheakley Field before kick off then on the concourse level of Nippert Stadium during the game. The club open their MLS season on Saturday against the Seattle Sounders (10 pm ET | FS1) before their home opener on March 17.
