During the US Soccer Development Academy U18/19 playoffs on Monday, Efrain Alvarez put the finishing touches on a 4-1 win for the LA Galaxy over the Philadelphia Union with a stunning outside-of-the-left-foot strike from well outside the box.
The Galaxy, who also got goals from top prospects Uly Llanez and Alex Mendez in the win, move on to the semifinals in Kansas City, which will be held on July 8.
A top midfield prospect in the Galaxy system, Alvarez was signed to a Homegrown contract in March as the seventh-youngest signing in league history. You can read more about him and how the Galaxy are shaping his future here.
