Chicago Fire's Matt Polster expected to miss 5-6 weeks due to knee sprain

Felipe Gutierrez - Sporting KC - Matt Polster - Chicago Fire

The Chicago Fire announced on Monday that defender Matt Polster suffered a Grade 2 right MCL sprain during training on March 16. Polster is expected to be out of action for five to six weeks.

Polster started the Fire's season opener on March 10, but was injured prior to Saturday's 2-1 loss against Minnesota United. Rafael Ramos started at right back in Polster's stead in that match.

The 24-year-old started 21 matches for the Fire last season after switching positions from central midfield to right back. Former Orlando City SC right back Rafael Ramos got the start in Polster's place against Minnesota on Saturday.
