TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
The Houston Dynamo could be the latest MLS team to get in on the trend of signing players from Venezuela, according to a new report.
The Houston Chronicle's Corey Roepken reported on Friday that the Dynamo are "showing interest" in 21-year-old defender Alejandro Fuenmayor, who currently plays for Carabobo FC in Venezuela's first division. While reports out of South America indicated an announcement on a deal was imminent, Roepken reported that a deal was not yet done as of publication.
Fuenmayor came through Carabobo's youth ranks before making his debut. A central defender, he can also play at right back.
The Dynamo begin the 2018 MLS regular season on March 3 against Atlanta United.
