Three Things

  1. UNDERRATED: If you haven't noticed Ola Kamara yet, it's time. The Norwegian scored his 14th goal of the year tonight and his 30th since coming to MLS in 2016. Only David VillaBradley Wright-Phillips, and Ignacio Piatti have score more, with Kamara tying Sebastian Giovinco on the top five goal-scorers list over the past two seasons. Not bad company.
  2. TRENDING UPWARD: Columbus now has a modest four-game unbeaten streak going, which includes three home wins. The points are crucial at this stage, especially considering that Crew SC has played 28 games already. With 42 points and 13 wins, they'll enter a bye week comfortably above the playoff line, though they'll be keeping a close eye on the teams below - all of which have at least three games in hand.
  3. TRENDING DOWNWARD: Dallas, on the other hand, will be looking forward to the calendar flipping to September after going winless in August. Tonight's loss extended their winless streak to six games, their last win coming on July 22. With 36 points they are clinging to the final playoff spot in the West, with San Jose and Salt Lake on their heels.
