Town Hall event caps off MLS Commissioner Don Garber's visit to Cincinnati

Don Garber - January 2016

MLS Commissioner Don Garber visited Cincinnati on Tuesday, wrapping up with a Town Hall event in the Queen City as local USL club FC Cincinnati continues its push as a candidate for future league expansion.

Garber began his trip by meeting with FC Cincinnati's owners in the morning. Following the meeting with FCC owners, Garber toured Nippert Stadium and surrounding facilities at the University of Cincinnati, followed by a business luncheon at noon.

In the afternoon, Garber went on a driving tour of the urban core of Cincinnati, including stops at Fountain Square, Moerlein Lager House, Smale Park, Cintrifuse, Rhinehaus and Washington Park.

The day concluded with the Town Hall held in the afternoon at Woodward Theater.

FC Cincinnati recently completed their debut season in USL. The club broke the league's single-game attendance record at Nippert Stadium several times over the course of the season and set a new mark in total attendance for a season. In addition, the club has expressed interest in moving to MLS in the future.
