The Canadian Championship winner will also book their ticket to the 2017-18 CONCACAF Champions League as Canada's entrant in the regional tournament.
How they got here
TORONTO: Entered in the semifinal round, and defeated Montreal Impact 4-2 on aggregate.
VANCOUVER: Entered in the semifinal round, defeating Ottawa Fury 3-2 on aggregate.
The teams have met four times previously in the Canadian Championship final, as the pre-MLS Whitecaps faced, and lost, to Toronto in 2009 and 2010, before the MLS-era Whitecaps met TFC in 2011 and 2012, with the Ontario club winning both of those years as well.
Toronto are 4-2 in ACC finals since 2008, losing in 2008 and 2014 to Montreal, while Vancouver are 1-5 in the finals. In addition to losing to TFC 2009-12, the Whitecaps lost to Montreal in 2013 before beating the Impact for their first triumph in the competition last year.
