Houston Dynamo sign Spaniards David Rocha, Agustin "Agus" Iniguez

Owen Coyle is bringing in some Spanish reinforcements.

Midfielder David Rocha and defender Agustin "Agus" Iniguez have signed with the Houston Dynamo, the club announced on Wednesday. Both have been signed as discovery players, coming off stints in Spain's second division.

“During the offseason, we’ve focused on continuing to add quality players to our roster,” Dynamo general manager Matt Jordan said in a statement. “We feel by adding two players with the experience, pedigree and character that David and Agus possess strengthens our group in preparation for the upcoming season.”

Rocha, 30, joins the Dynamo from Gimnástic de Tarragona, where he was captain the last two seasons and scored 16 goals in 99 appearances since 2013.

Agus, 30, a left-footed central defender, comes to Houston from a brief spell with Albacete after changing clubs a few times over the years. He got his start rising through the Albacete academy before transferring to Real Madrid at age 20 in 2005 and playing for Real Madrid B.

With their addition, the Dynamo have now brought in nine new players during an offseason that saw them land the No. 2 assist leader in MLS last year, Cristian Maidana, in a trade with Philadelphia.
