Here’s how it went down when Lil B went to his first San Jose Earthquakes game | SIDELINE

Lil B at Avaya Stadium

If you were around the first weekend of October, when Sebastian Giovinco led Toronto FC to a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Union, then you probably remember this whole thing. After his 28th-minute goal, to celebrate, Giovinco did a little move known as “cooking,” popularized by the Bay Area rapper (and performance artist) Lil B.

Thanks to the magic of Twitter, that led to an exchange between MLS and Lil B, which resulted in the artist giving his official “blessing” to the league, and to North American soccer in general. You can get a recap on how that all went down—and why a Lil B blessing, or worse, a curse, is important in sports--here.

That brings us to this past weekend, Friday, October 17. Though B reps hard for the Bay, he had yet to go to a San Jose Earthquakes game. Friday changed all that, when Lil B made it out to Avaya Stadium and even scored his own custom jersey from the team.

He posed for photos with just about every fan who found him, it seemed…

….And even showed up on the Jumbotron.

The result? A new fan for life…

And, of course, a win for the Quakes, 1-0 over visitors Sporting Kansas City.

The Lil B blessing is real, everyone! Look how it’s working out for the Toronto Blue Jays so far.

Teams facing the Quakes in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs race, take heed!
