Joe Corona with Club Tijuana

American Exports: Joe Corona, Greg Garza go the full 90 as Tijuana earn a point on the road

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Joe Corona and Greg Garza both played 90 minutes, as Club Tijuana picked up a point on the road at Pumas UNAM with a 1-1 draw in Sunday's Liga MX clash.

Corona featured in an attacking midfield role, creating a decent chance for Dayro Moreno in the 24th minute with a flowing interchange of passes to move the ball forward down the right flank.

The San Diego native also saw a fierce right-footed shot from 25 yards go just over the crossbar in the 38th, but was too easily beaten for Pumas’ only goal two minutes later, when he allowed Daniel Ludueña to get in a cross from the right of the penalty area.

Garza wore a protective mask after missing last weekend’s match due to a nose injury and was his usual energetic and busy self at left back.

There was a late appearance too for Alejandro Guido – his third in the Liga MX – who entered the field with three minutes remaining and had a half-chance from the edge of the box in stoppage time, but his shot went straight at Pumas ‘keeper Alejandro Palacios.

Winger Paul Arriola was an unused substitute as Xolos made it six points from six games in the Apertura 2014 regular season.
