At this point, there is no confirmed date for when David Beckham's Major League Soccer expansion club in Miami will begin play, but there are plenty of rumors and reports about who will be involved when they do.
The latest, according to a report in The Sunday Times in London, is that Beckham is interested in hiring former Manchester United manager David Moyes to be the head coach in Miami.
Moyes, who says he'd like another shot at a UEFA Champions League club, would be an interesting pick for Miami. The Scot was a polarizing figure at Manchester United, and was fired in April, just 10 months after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson at the legendary club.
Before that, Moyes spent 11 seasons successfully guiding Everton – where, at various times, he coached US national team stars Tim Howard, Brian McBride, and Landon Donovan – and four seasons managing Preston North End.
It was at Preston where Moyes first encountered Beckham, in 1995, when Moyes was still a player at the club in northern England. That year, a 19-year-old Beckham came on loan to Preston from Man. United.
