Save of the Week

Portland Timbers goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts wins Week 12's Save of the Week by massive margin

Donovan Ricketts had just been beaten by Bradley Wright-Phillips for a goal, but he refused to let it happen a second time.

Moments after surrendering an equalizer to the on-form striker, Ricketts came up big, literally and figuratively, to deny Wright-Phillips on a golden one-on-one opportunity. The save helped keep the game level and opened the door for the winner from Maximiliano Urruti in the Portland Timbers' 2-1 road win vs. the New York Red Bulls last Saturday.

The impressive save saw Ricketts claim Week 12's Save of the Week honors by a landslide. The Jamaican international earned almost 61 percent of the vote en route to winning his first Save of the Week award this season, extending the Western Conference's reign with the award to three weeks.

Final Votes - Week 12:

1. Donovan Ricketts (POR): 60.72%
2. Stefan Frei (SEA) 21.73%
3. Bill Hamid (DC): 6.36%
4. Troy Perkins (MTL) 6.36%
5. Jon Busch (SJ): 4.84%
