World Cup: Argentina announce 30-man preliminary roster, minus Juventus striker Carlos Tevez

Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella has named his provisional 30-man World Cup roster on Tuesday and as expected left out Carlos Tévez.

The Juventus striker and two-time World Cup participant missed out on a spot as well as Tottenham winger Erik Lamela and PSG midfielder Javier Pastore.

Franco di Santo, Gabriel Mercado and Fabián Rinaudo are the surprise inclusions, but are not expected to make the final cut come June 2.

The Lionel Messi-led group also includes world-class attackers of the Sergio Agüero, Gonzalo Higuaín and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

A member of Group F, Argentina kick off their tournament June 15 against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Rio de Janeiro followed by matches against Iran on June 21 in Belo Horizonte and June 25 against Nigeria in Porto Alegre.
