Team of the Week (Wk 7): Sporting Kansas City players highlight this week's squad

In another weekend filled with draws, one standout performance shines. Sporting Kansas City dismantled the Montreal Impact at home on Saturday night to the tune of a 4-0 final.

In that great team performance, a couple of individuals stood out. Dom Dwyer and Aurélien Collin both put their names in the Team of the Week for Week 7 with Dwyer contributing two goals and Collin scoring one of his own while helping his team keep a clean sheet.

Some other notables in this week's squad are Obafemi Martins, who makes his first appearance here this season, and Matt Hedges, who scored another set piece goal while keeping Toronto's attack quiet.

Who else earned a spot on the latest Team of the Week? Read on to find out.

Team of the Week (Wk 7): Sporting Kansas City players highlight this week's squad -

GK: Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) – Only made four saves but two of them helped RSL secure their three points in the closing moments.

D: Aurélien Collin (Sporting Kansas City) – He scored a goal, but he was just a pest on the offensive end the entire night. Good in the air, fought hard in the box. Then on the defensive end, he had a goal-line clearance to keep Montreal off the board.

D: David Horst (Houston Dynamo) – Absolutely dominant in his own box, clearing balls and preventing the Union from winning any aerial chances. Also put in a few good blocks and challenges to deny Union chances.

D: Matt Hedges (FC Dallas) – Snuffed out most of Toronto FC's chances and scored an equalizer off of a corner.

D: Chad Marshall (Seattle Sounders) – Consistently hampered Chivas USA's advances and ended the game with six interceptions.

M: Lloyd Sam (New York Red Bulls) – Was once again integral in the Red Bulls attack and outjumped Tim Cahill to give his team the win in midweek.

M: Perry Kitchen (D.C. United) – Very effective as in his usual position at holding mid, gobbling everything up and covering miles of ground.

M: Ned Grabavoy (Real Salt Lake) – Had another solid outing in the midfield and provided the game winner with a perfectly placed shot.

F: Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders) – Though it looked like he was going to have a frustrating night through the first 80 minutes, the Nigerian international kept himself in dangerous positions all game and took care of business when his team needed the winning goal.

F: Dom Dwyer (Sporting Kansas City) – Scored two goals and could have had another if it weren’t for Troy Perkins’ face.

F: Darren Mattocks (Vancouver Whitecaps) – Scored the first equalizer, delivered the game-tying assist and his speed repeatedly tested the Galaxy’s backline.

Coach: Peter Vermes (Sporting Kansas City) – Made the moves that were needed to take care of business. Got good performances out of Dwyer, Alex Martinez, and Lawrence Olum.

Bench:Bobby Shuttleworth (New England Revolution), Jair Benitez (FC Dallas), Dan Gargan (LA Galaxy), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew), Benny Feilhaber (Sporting Kansas City), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls)
