Topps 2013 MLS trading card set (Andrew Farrell)

Way back in May came the awesome news that Major League Soccer had switched its official player card production rights from Upper Deck to Topps. Word then was that the newest edition of MLS player cards would come out around the All-Star Game at the end of July.

Well, it is now mid-July, the All-Star Game is almost here, and we have MLS player cards by Topps. MLS Director of Corporate Communications Sean Dennison got his hands on the first set of photos and has been sharing them with most of the world on Twitter this afternoon.

It's the first-ever MLS Topps trading card set and the inaugural release has autographed cards, relic cards and a "SuperDraft" and "Maestros" series. Other unique inserts include cards made with the Topps 1978 English league design, mini cards and an MLS Rivalries series (see below). And there are even more.

The cards are on sale at hobby shops, mass retailers (Target, Dollar Tree, etc.), sporting good shops and soccer speciality stores. And they'll soon be available via MLSsoccer.com.

If you're on Twitter, re-tweet the following tweet for a chance to win a box of Topps MLS player cards, including three autograph and three relic cards.
