GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The Liga MX rolls on this weekend, sandwiched in between the second legs of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series.


Having returned home with a 1-0 defeat to the Houston Dynamo on Tuesday, Herculez Gomez and his Santos Laguna side will host Atlante in the Estadio Corona (8 pm ET, Univision Deportes 2) ahead of next week's second leg against Dominic Kinnear's men. US Under-20 national team midfielder Benji Joya is also a possibility for the Guerreros.


Liga MX leaders Tigres UANL warm up for next week’s trip to Seattle with an away game at San Luis (10 pm ET, Univision Deportes). But Jose Torres’ side won’t be short of support with around 20,000 fans from Monterrey expected to travel for the game.

Club Tijuana are making giant strides in the Copa Libertadores and Joe Corona may be rested for Saturday’s home game against relegation strugglers Querétaro in the border city (8 pm ET, Univision Deportes) due to the squad traveling to Brazil next week. Edgar Castillo is out with a facial injury, but Greg Garza is likely to get minutes as he continues his comeback.

Puebla are right in the playoff fight and Michael Orozco Fiscal and DaMarcus Beasley are both set to feature in the Estadio Cuauhtémoc against Pumas on Sunday (6 pm ET, ESPNEWS in English).

Club América’s Ventura Alvarado could make the bench in the first Liga MX match of the weekend when the Águilas travel to Morelia (8:30 pm ET, ESPNEWS in English).

In the Ascenso MX, Sonny Guadarrama’s Mérida are at Celaya on Saturday (9:50 pm ET).
