AMSTERDAM – All three US international in action on Tuesday enjoyed victory, with Eric Lichaj setting up the last-minute winner in Aston Villa's 3-2 Capital One Cup win at Swindon Town.

With No. 1 netminder Brad Guzan taking a scheduled cup powder in the dugout, the visitors would blow a two-goal lead by conceding on 78 and 81 minutes. Lichaj – who switched from left to right back midway through the game due to an injury – then crossed for Christian Benteke to fire the Villans into the tourney's final eight.

In Belgium's Jupiler League, Sacha Kljestan returned to the Anderlecht line-up for a full shift in their 5-0 stroll past visiting Gent.

The former Chivas USA man worked all 90 minutes in his first Mauves start in more than a month. Thanks to their third straight clean sheet win at home in league play, the defending champs tentatively moved three points clear at the top.

German DfB-Pokal action saw Jermaine Jones and Schalke advance to the sweet 16 with a 3-0 victory over Sandhausen. Andrew Wooten came off the bench to work 19 minutes for the second-flight visitors.
