The schedule for the final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying will be decided by a FIFA draw, North American soccer's governing body announced Friday.
Representatives from the six teams involved (United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, Jamaica) were unable to agree on a schedule amongst themselves and came to a consensual decision to allow FIFA to set the final match list. The draw will take place within 30 days.
The Hexagonal is set to start on Feb. 6, 2013, and must conclude by Oct. 15, 2013. It will consist of a double-round robin, with each team playing a home-and-home series. The top three teams will automatically qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, while the fourth-placed team will playoff against the winner of the Oceania qualifying tournament.
