American Exports: Gyau, Gatt earn contract extensions

Joseph Gyau is set for his first-team debut for Hoffenheim

The European adventure continues for two young American stars.

Hoffenheim 1899 midfielder Joseph Gyau and Molde FK fullback Joshua Gatt both signed contract extensions on Friday that will keep them at their respective clubs through 2015.

The 19-year-old Gyau made his professional debut this season in Hoffenheim's DFB Cup quarterfinal loss to 2.Bundesliga club SpVgg Greuther Fuerth. Gyau has been with the German club since 2010.

Gatt joined Molde in 2011. The 20-year-old has scored one goal in three Tippeligaen games this year, a 69th-minute winner against Strømsgodset.

Both players were called up to coach Caleb Porter's US Olympic qualifying squad, though Gatt was recalled by Molde before the tournament began.
