AMSTERDAM — A few Americans clocked in across the pond on Tuesday night, with Tim Howard suffering a Steven Gerrard hat trick in Everton's 3-0 Premier League loss at archrivals Liverpool.
The US netminder made six saves, but had little to do with Gerrard strikes on 34, 51 and 90 minutes. Losing for the first time in over two months, Everton remained stalled in ninth place.
Down one level in the Championship, Jonathan Spector left with a thigh injury after just 10 minutes of Birmingham City's 3-1 defeat at Leicester City. Now winles in four, the Brums slipped to eighth place.
