American Exports: Friedel still hard to beat at home

AMSTERDAM — Brad Friedel and Tottenham Hotspur continued their fine White Hart Lane form on Tuesday, shutting down EPL guests West Bromwich Albion for a 1-0 win.

The veteran netminder needed just one save to record his fifth clean sheet in the last nine games and seventh of the season. Eight minutes from time, Friedel preserved the win by blocking away a tricky long-range effort by Baggies sub Somen Tchoyi.

The victory was Spurs' seventh on their current eight-game home unbeaten streak and pulled them to within three points of second-place Manchester United.
