It was not too long ago that US national team fans were boasting about their domination of Mexico's El Tri but new USMNT boss Jurgen Klinsmann is having none of it.
From his introductory press conference, the former German international described Mexico as "one of the top 10 teams in the world." Meanwhile, he said the USA "has a ways to go still to break into those top 10."
He reiterated that in his pregame press conference on Tuesday: "They [Mexico] belong in the Top 10 in the world. The US right now doesn't belong in that region."
Is it a question of "the truth hurts" or is Klinsmann overreacting to the last two Gold Cup final losses and ignoring recent history?
