Feilhaber weighing offers from three teams

Benny Feilhaber celebrates his late winner for AGF.

AMSTERDAM — The race to land Aarhus GF playmaker Benny Feilhaber has heated up, with the US international now weighing offers from three clubs spread across the globe.

The 25-year old is set to run out of contract this summer, and the Danish second division leaders look unlikely to retain him for the season's second half.

"There's a few different things on the table," Feilhaber's agent, Lyle Yorks told MLSsoccer.com. "There's a European club, a team in Mexico and one in South America."

Recent Mexican reports have tabbed Cruz Azul as the Mexican suitor, and MLSsoccer.com has learned that the South American bidder comes from Feilhaber's native Brazil.

The location of the European chaser remains a mystery, but Yorks had previously confirmed contact with clubs in Denmark, the Netherlands and Spain.

While each of three discussions is advanced, the agent remains unsure as to when a deal might be struck.

"It's tough to gauge at this point," stated Yorks. "It could be done in 24 hours or it could be one or two weeks. It's just a matter of sorting through the options."

At the 1.Division's extended winter break, Feilhaber has notched four goals and seven assists in 15 league outings. The American has also appeared in 36 contests up in the SAS Liga since joining AGF in 2008.
