RSL reserves down Houston 3-2

Led by MLS veteran Chris Brown, the RSL Reserves improved to 5-3-3 (18 points) with a 3-2, come-from-behind win in their penultimate game of the season against visiting Houston Sunday at the Quinn's Junction complex in Park City. After allowing Houston a 10th-minute goal by FW Marcus Storey and a 30th-minute goal by MF Chris Wondolowski to give the Dynamo a 2-0 halftime lead, RSL roared back in the 2nd half.

In the 55th minute, Brown nodded home a cross from FW Jamie Watson to cut the Dynamo lead in half, as RSL's attack gained confidence from its 2nd-half pressure. In the 63rd minute, RSL DF Danny Torres returned to action for the first time since July 14 after suffering internal derangement in his right ankle, forcing the early-season sensation out for 15 games with the senior team. In the 72nd minute, RSL drew level when MF Duke Hashimoto took a Joey Worthen through-ball and blasted the ball past Houston GK Martin Hutton. In the 87th minute, Brown scored the go-ahead goal after DF Nik Besagno won the ball just inside the RSL half, and played up to MF Brian Gil. Gil then sent a long ball over the top to an onrushing Brown, who scored his team-leading fifth reserve league goal of the season with a left-footed blast into the far-side netting for the RSL win.
