Dynamo Diesel

HOUSTON, TX - He's here! He's furry, orange, and by nature, foxy. Introducing Dynamo Diesel, the new mascot of the Houston Dynamo!

Dynamo Diesel, a fox, was introduced to media and fans this morning at the Houston Zoo. Dozens of people congregated near the prairie dog exhibit to witness firsthand the arrival of the team's newest member.

Principals at the introduction included:

Chris Canetti-Houston Dynamo Chief Operating Officer

Larry Horn, President, Art Institute of Houston

Arden DeBrun, Chairperson, Graphic Design Department, Art Institute of Houston

David Bennett, Graphic Design Instructor, Art Institute of Houston

Eric Hulsey, Graphic Design Student & Creator, Dynamo Diesel

Leslie Lopez, Graphic Design Student & Creator, Dynamo Diesel

Dr. Lauren Howard, Assistant Veterinarian, Houston Zoo

The winning design of Dynamo Diesel was selected among several submitted by students at Art Institute of Houston. Eric Hulsey and Leslie Lopez will receive a $500 scholarship from the Dynamo as part of their prize package for this creation.

During his time at the Zoo, Dynamo Diesel visited the lions, and made some friends among the people who attended the event. Dynamo Diesel later visited J. Will Jones Elementary School, the Houston Children's Hospital, and The Houston Children's Museum, among other activities.

Dynamo Diesel will be an important part of Houston Dynamo's marketing and community outreach programs. He will not only be present at games, cheering on the team, but will also join our group of Dynamo Girls to help promote the team.

The Houston Dynamo will be in action this Sunday, making its MLS season debut against the Los Angeles Galaxy. For information, or to purchase tickets, please call the Houston Dynamo Ticket Line, at 713-276-7500, or log on to www.houstondynamo.com.
