Zavagnin added to U.S. team roster

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Wizards midfielder Kerry Zavagnin has been added to the U.S. Men's National Team roster for their match against England on Saturday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. CT at Soldier Field in Chicago. Zavagnin will replace midfielder Pablo Mastroeni, who pulled his right quadricep in the Colorado Rapids' 2-1 loss to FC Dallas on Wednesday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.


Zavagnin made three appearances for the U.S. team in the semifinal round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, helping to secure wins against El Salvador on two occasions and one victory against Panama. He has 11 caps with the U.S. since making his international debut against Mexico on October 25, 2000.


The match against England will be the first time the team's face each other since 1994, when the U.S. fell 2-0 at London's famed Wembley Stadium.
