SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake defenders Brian Dunseth and Brian Kamler kick off Primary Children's Hospital's month-long reading program today, Friday, July 1, at 2:00 p.m. MT. to encourage children's participation in literacy and emphasize the fun in reading.
Dunseth and Kamler will each read a book supporting the hospital-wide program's goal of the children reading 10,000 pages by the end of the month. During the month of July, the children will turn in slips of paper with the books they have read while hospital staff will record the total pages read on a tracking "thermometer" on display in the hospital's lobby. The RSL player's reading session is one of several activities the Primary Children's is hosting. There will be book bingo, poetry readings, and literacy projects for the children, as well as classes teaching parents how to most effectively read to their children.

Dunseth and Kamler recently visited the children's hospital and were approached by the facility's staff to participate in today's kickoff celebrations. Both players immediately agreed not only because of their desire to give back to the community and these children, but also because of their love of books and the importance of literacy.
