Rapids 3, MetroStars 2 -- quote sheet

it's when you're confident in players from one through the development squad. It's very exciting for us because a night like tonight when we wanted to not stress Pedro's groin injury, trying to get him some rest, we had to turn to Jordan again and get Alberto in his first minutes, and these guys stepped up and are earning their battle scars. It's exciting to see."

RAPIDS FORWARD JORDAN CILA

On the result:
"It's incredible to be able to score on front of my home crowd, but it's great that we won as a team. We're back again, and we're out of the basement and ready to roll now. We got momentum to our July 4th game and then we have some big Western Conference games so we're excited."

On playing MLS games:
"I'm always nervous before the games, but obviously with these games, I'm a little bit more nervous than usual, but once I go into the mentality, get one, two, a couple of simple touches during the game and get my rhythm going, I feel confident that I could play in this league. It's a big difference between the college game, the speed of play and everything, but slowly but surely it's coming together and now we're getting results so it's good."

RAPIDS DEFENDER NAT BORCHERS

On his first goal:
"It was a good knock by Sullivan and I was just lucky to be at the right place at the right time."

On the game's importance:
"I think that the guys tonight really stepped on the field and decided they wanted to make a difference. I think every single guy on the park really contributed to the game tonight and I think that we really made a statement tonight about the quality of this team."
