Player development schools

SECAUCUS, N.J. - Following the success of the six Spring Player Development Schools, the MetroStars are pleased to announce the launch of ten add schools for the fall season. This move by the MetroStars, further cements their commitment to youth soccer across the entire Tri-State area.

The intensive training schools are being offered throughout the Tri-State area, with programs running for 8 consecutive weeks, beginning after Labor Day. The schools will run for two hours per evening, the dates of the sessions are dependent on the location.

Sites include Connecticut (Fairfield Co.), New York (Rockland Co., Westchester Co.), Long Island (Nassau, Suffolk Co.) and New Jersey (Morris, Middlesex, Ocean, Monmouth, Mercer, Gloucester Co).

Players 7-14 years old are eligible for the program. Players will be grouped with other players of similar age and skill. The Player Development School offers structured, progressive training, which covers the technical, tactical and functional aspects of the game required to play at the next level.

The program curriculum has been structured to serve as a means for identifying players for a potential opportunity with the MetroStars Academy teams.

Each site is limited to just 48 players and will have a player to professional instructor ratio of 1:12.

Strategically placed throughout communities in the Tri State area, MetroStars Player Development Programs are the best resource for youth soccer players to access high level training at local clubs. The program curriculum has been designed by MetroStars Player Development staff to provide structured training for soccer players to continue their progression through the summer.
