DALLAS, Texas - Hunt Sports Group President John Wagner announced today that "Enduro in the Park", a two-day, off-road motorcycle racing extravaganza will make its Pizza Hut Park debut this weekend. Professional and Expert division races will begin on Saturday, December 3 and last between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and will culminate at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 4. Sunday's racing will also include amateur and intermediate level races which begin at 8 a.m.
Tickets for this event will cost $12 per person and children age six and under will be free. You can purchase your tickets on the day of the event from the Pizza Hut Park box office at the North end of the stadium.
The custom designed racetrack, which will be located on Pizza Hut Park's state-of-the-art stage at the North end of the stadium, was created specifically for off-road motorcycles, blending several types off off-road racing into one exciting indoor event. The extreme off-road track includes boulders, downed logs, hills and trees. Track designers and engineers brought in over 25,000 square feet of dirt, 100 telephone poles, 22 6-foot tractor tires and 3 truckloads of rock to create obstacles.
"Only select few motorcycle riders ever get the opportunity to race inside a stadium," said Event Director Josh Whitaker. "This year, we created an event that will give all levels of riders this experience of a lifetime."
Riders will compete in heats of 12 to qualify for the main event in each class. The track will feature more demanding elements on Saturday, December 3rd, when the Expert and Professional riders take to the course. The racing on Sunday will be toned down to accommodate the Amateur and Intermediate classes.
