Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber will join the coaches and star players participating in MLS Cup 2005 and several of the League's legendary players in the annual MLS Cup Luncheon to be held on Friday, November 11 at the Verizon Wireless Club (12:00 p.m. CT) at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.
In addition to media availability, the event will feature the annual State of the League address from the Commissioner and the unveiling of the RadioShack All-Time Best XI. The luncheon will follow New England Revolution practice (9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CT) and precede Los Angeles Galaxy practice (1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. CT).
MLS Cup 2005, which is already a sell-out, will take place on Sunday, November 13 at Pizza Hut Park and will feature the New England Revolution battling the Los Angeles Galaxy for the Alan I. Rothenberg Trophy live on ABC Sports (2:30 p.m. CT). The event will be broadcast to over 120 countries through ESPN International.
Galaxy Head Coach Steve Sampson, New England Revolution Head Coach Steve Nicol, Galaxy forward Landon Donovan and Revolution forward Taylor Twellman will be among the guests in attendance on Friday.
The RadioShack All-Time Best XI squad was selected through voting by fans on the League's official website, www.MLSnet.com, media votes, and ballots submitted by MLS Coaches and General Managers.
