Johnson injured in training session

Eddie Johnson will undergo an MRI Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.

Dallas Burn forward Eddie Johnson suffered a left ankle injury during training Tuesday and was forced to leave the training session on crutches, according to the Burn. It is not yet known how long Johnson will be out of action.

During a possession drill, Johnson collided with another player who was trying to make a tackle and injured his left ankle. The fourth-year player will undergo an MRI either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning to determine the severity of the injury.

Johnson, who has played for the U.S. under-23 and under-20 national teams in the past year, currently leads the Burn in both goals, with four - a tie with fellow striker Toni Nhleko - and points, with nine.

With those totals, the Nike Project-40 player has already eclipsed his previous career highs in both categories.
