Fire announces re-launch of official team web site

The Chicago Fire announced Friday the re-launch of the club's official team website, www.chicago-fire.com. The re-launch of the Fire's website brings the club's official online information site onboard the newly created MLSNet.com Internet Network, a joint effort between Major League Soccer and Sports on Earth, LLC that includes eight of the League's ten sides. Chicago became the fourth of the eight clubs to have the new look of its website introduced since the beginning of the 2004 season.

"The Fire is pleased to be the fourth team live on the MLS Internet Network," said Steve Pastorino, Chicago Fire assistant GM. "Our fans will enjoy the technological advances, content and support that our new site will deliver."

With the re-launch, Fire fans will continue to have access to the information from the previous site, such as sections focusing on the Chicago Fire Youth Development Program and the FireWorks for Kids Foundation, while enjoying an increase in fresh features and a site navigation similar to the League's website, www.MLSNet.com. The Fire new website will also give fans of the "Men in Red" access to more multimedia features, including audio and video highlights from every Fire contest.

"We are extremely happy to team up with the Chicago Fire and Major League Soccer," said Phil Green, general manager MLSnet.com Internet Network. "We have received an overwhelmingly positive fan reaction to the new MLSnet.com, the official league website, and we are looking forward to taking that success to the team level and providing Fire fans with up to the minute news, information, analysis and all of the exciting video and audio highlights from on and off the field."

Through their partnership with MLS, Sports on Earth will provide original editorial content, audio and video highlights, design and technical support as well as marketing and sales support to MLS and each of the eight clubs whose site is a part of the network.

The MLSnet.com Internet Network made its debut with the re-launch of MLSNet.com to kick-off the 2004 Major League Soccer season in April. The eight MLS teams whose sites are a part of the network are: Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, Dallas Burn, D.C. United, Kansas City Wizards, Los Angeles Galaxy, MetroStars and the San Jose Earthquakes.
