FCD vs. COL: Pregame quotes

Head coach Colin Clarke on Richard Mulrooney's injury:

"Obviously, very disappointed for Richard more than anything. He was having a great season and probably getting closer to getting back into the national setup. We feel very sad for him."

Clarke on how this injury will impact the team:
"There is no doubt that it is hard to substitute a player like Richard, but I believe that we have players on this squad that are capable of stepping up and filling the hole. We will continue to pursue our goal and win games."

Clarke on David Wagenfuhr's injury:
"Dave has a bruised knee cap and will not play tonight, but he should be fit for selection on Sunday."

Clarke on Wednesday night's game vs. Colorado:
"It is a very important game because we are back at home. We've been able to get some good results on the road and now we have to get a win tonight at home against a conference rival."

Midfielder Oscar Pareja on the match:
"We are glad to come back home and all the team is very positive about tonight's game. We all know that it is very important to get the three points tonight because this is the only game that we'll play at home over this eight game stretch."

Pareja on Mulrooney's injury:
"It's tough. We all feel bad for Richard because he has been a very important part to our team this season, but this is one of those things that is part of the sport and we'll just have to deal with it. We hope he overcomes this as fast as possible and we'll try to win the three points for him tonight."

Forward Eddie Johnson on the game:
"It is important to be back in front of our fans. We've been performing very well on the road and we have to keep our confidence high and get the three points tonight at the Cotton Bowl. We've always performed well at home against Colorado (5-0-1 over their past six against Colorado at home), but that's not to underestimate them because they come off a big win against Chivas USA."

Johnson on Mulrooney's injury:
"It is tough because he is part of this team's core and now it's everybody's responsibility to play at even a higher level and cover the hole that he is leaving. It is hard to replace good players but championship teams are the ones that overcome these obstacles and we will do exactly that."
