Eddie Robinson visits Catalyst Soccer Club

Eddie Robinson talked about dedication with kids at the Catalyst Soccer Club.

The Earthquakes supported the Catalyst Soccer Club for the second time this year on the afternoon of Sunday, June 5. Earthquakes defender Eddie Robinson visited the camp at the York School soccer fields in Monterey to sign autographs, answer questions, and talk to the youth players about pursuing a sports career.

Robinson talked to the group of 8-14 year olds, focusing on the dedication it takes to become a professional athlete. Robinson told the kids that it is important to devote yourself to your passion for soccer not only as an adult, but starting at a young age. He also reiterated that the best way to reach your dreams is to do well in school to earn a scholarship to college. The defender closed out the appearance with a Q & A and an autographs signing.

The Catalyst Soccer Club camp is run by UC Santa Cruz men's soccer head coach Paul Holocher, who is also a former member of the San Jose Clash and U.S. national team.
