Chivas USA joins Red Cross, Univision to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina

Chivas USA has joined the American Red Cross and Spanish-language television network Univision in a campaign to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The new Major League Soccer franchise will be accepting donations in a tent located in ChivaTown during this Saturday's game between Chivas USA and the Columbus Crew at The Home Depot Center.


In addition, Chivas USA's charitable foundation, Fundación Chivas de Corazón, will donate all proceeds from its sales of bracelets on game day.


Chivas USA returns to The Home Depot Center for its first game in Southern California in nearly a month this Saturday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. PT versus the Columbus Crew. The match will mark the highly anticipated home debut of Mexican National Team stars Francisco 'Paco' Palencia and Juan Pablo 'El Loquito' García. Fans will also be able to enjoy the World Cup Qualifying match between Mexico and United States, which will be broadcast on the stadium's big screen starting at 4:30 p.m. PT.
