Chivas USA to have 400 try out

"Sangre Nueva," the official tryouts for the first team of Club Deportivo Chivas USA, Los Angeles' new Major League Soccer franchise, are set to take place this Sunday, October 31 in the city of Baldwin Park, Los Angeles County.


Four-hundred soccer players from 17 different U.S. states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah and Virginia) have signed up for the tryouts, to be held at Charles D. Jones Junior High School, located at 14250 East Merced Avenue in the city of Baldwin Park.


Media interested in covering the event should contact the Public Relations Department of Chivas USA. Due to limited space and parking availability, access to the tryouts will be restricted to registered players, their immediate family members, and members of the press.


Founded by owners Jorge Vergara and Antonio Cué, Club Deportivo Chivas USA is getting ready to take Major League Soccer by storm starting in April 2005.
