BURN SURPASSES LAST YEAR'S ROAD POINT TOTAL

With their 2-0 victory at the MetroStars last Saturday, the Burn has already surpassed last year's total points earned on the road after just five road matches. The Burn is currently 2-2-1 in road matches this year for seven points. Last year's team finished with a road record of 1-11-3 for six points and did not register their lone road victory until July 16, a 2-1 victory over New England.

GIBBS OUT FOR NATIONAL TEAM DUTY

Burn defender Cory Gibbs, a key contributor in last week's 2-0 shutout over the MetroStars, will miss this weekend's match vs. New England. Gibbs was named to the US National Team roster for their World Cup qualifying match this Sunday vs. Grenada in Columbus. The second leg of qualifying is the following Sunday in Grenada, meaning that if Gibbs is named to the roster for that match as well, he will miss the June 19 match at Colorado.

THOMPSON, WAGENFUHR SEE A-LEAGUE ACTION OVER THE WEEKEND

Burn forward Jason Thompson, on loan to the Atlanta Silverbacks, saw action in both of Atlanta's victories this past weekend. Thompson played the final 15 minutes in a 4-3 victory over Portland on Friday night and the first 35 minutes in Sunday's 1-0 win over Rochester before suffering an ankle sprain. Wagenfuhr, on loan to the Milwaukee Wave United, played the final seven minutes in a 2-1 loss to Vancouver on Friday night.
