2024 (CHICAGO FIRE): So far this season, Haile-Selassie has appeared in all three matches (three starts) for Chicago Fire FC. He picked up his first assist of the season on Fabian Herbers's second goal of the season in the 2-1 road loss to the Columbus Crew on March 9 at Lower.com Field.

2023 (CHICAGO FIRE): In his first season with Chicago Fire FC, Haile-Selassie won the Club's Golden Boot, after scoring a team-high six goals during the 2023 campaign. Haile-Selassie became the 11th player in Club history to win the Golden Boot during his first season with the Club, a feat most recently accomplished last season when Colombian striker Jhon Durán led the team with eight goals. Also earning Golden Boot honors in their first Fire season were Robert Berić (2020), CJ Sapong (2019), Nemanja Nikolić (2017), David Accam (2015), Mike Magee (2013), Dominic Oduro (2011), Chris Rolfe (2005), Eric Wynalda (2001), and Ante Razov (1998). In total, Haile-Selassie appeared in 32 matches (20 starts) with Chicago Fire FC and recorded six goals and four assists in 2023. After making his debut with Chicago against NYCFC on March 4, 2023, he became the 250th player to ever appear in a league match for the Chicago Fire.

The Fire exercised the option to purchase midfielder Maren Haile-Selassie on Nov. 22, 2023. Prior to his new deal, the winger was acquired by the Fire on loan from partner club, FC Lugano.
